OUR STORY

As a native of Senegal on the coast of West Africa, I have an overarching passion for cooking in large portions, and for celebrating life through food - with family, friends, and even coworkers. Though I have always been inspired by food, it wasn’t until I began working in the healthcare field in 2014 that I landed on my true calling: a way to infuse American cuisine with a taste of Senegal.

After years of my coworkers routinely asking me “what I was using” to enliven my daily lunches, I went to work - creating my own blend of seasoning from scratch, which is now batched, bottled, and labelled professionally by myself and my husband, sold all over the country online, at farmers markets, events, and a few stores, and nationwide distribution.

GG’s Seasoning started as an experiment in my kitchen in Casa Grande, Arizona: combining everyday ingredients and blends purchased locally along with two unique spice blends directly imported from Senegal, truly part of the “secret” to tasty food! Originally batched in my kitchen in Casa Grande, “G’s Spice and Everything Nice” slowly began to take shape. After testing my product for three more years, I was motivated by my coworkers to make this wonderful seasoning a reality. To this day, I will forever be indebted to my team at Banner Hospital, and to one trusted co-worker in particular, Kary O’Connor, who offered to use her own capital to produce my first ever label and logo. With Kary’s help, I was able to small batch an original run of 250 bottles, and the response was immediate.

In 2020, after marrying Matthew Berger, a young (he says I’m being quite generous with “young”) entrepreneur in Phoenix, Arizona, within a few years GG’s Spice and Everything Nice took hold, and was officially introduced to the world in 2022 as GG’s Seasoning!

I firmly believe that GG’s Seasoning can help transform your next meal - from popcorn (shoutout to Dr. Lawry’s husband!) and vegetables to chicken, beef, fish, pasta, pizza, and even soup! GG’s Seasoning is all about the flavor, giving meaning to everyday dishes, and a subtle hint to your favorite snacks!
